Wilkswood 2018 promises a harmonious weekend of vibrant performances – and Z Movements’ dancers are ready to engage the carnival spirit!
Z Movements is Natasha Z Player, a contemporary African dance artist, choreographer, teacher and producer. As a facilitator at Pavilion Dance South West (Bournemouth), Natasha regularly runs African dance workshops for children, young people and adults. Her events nurture and inspire participants in arts venues across the south region and beyond.
Natasha collaborates with like-minded artists shifting concepts of African Caribbean dance and music. Her solo and choreographed group performances draw on traditional and contemporary dance practice, and with over ten years’ experience, she brings people together to create opportunity for all through audience engagement.
Natasha’s impressive commissions include the ‘Urban Carnival Roadshow’ uniting women through Caribbean carnival music and dance for street performance, and ‘Light on Time and Moving Tides’, a street procession event in Poole showcased for the 2012 Olympics. Natasha is also the creative producer for Umoja Arts Network curating artistic programmes which raise the profile of African Caribbean arts and culture across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.
