The Reverend DJ Jack Daniels is an original Portsmouth Punk whose love of The Ruts, The Slits and especially the Ladbroke Grove dub of The Clash back in the late 70s sparked his longstanding love of reggae. Jack has been settled in Purbeck, Dorset since 1986 and he has helped curate the lineup for the DJ Derek Memorial Stage, having been lucky enough to guest alongside the legendary Bristolian at the Scott Arms, Kingston, a few years ago. He’s brought together a wide range of national acts as well as a Homegrown Stable of DJs, many scouted from his frequent visits to the Square & Compass pub in Worth Matravers.
JD has played partner in crime to DJ Derek, Ted at the Controls, NTS Radio’s Foxy DJ Launette and Ned Fandango and he has provided DJ support to The Damned, Pussycat & the Dirty Johnsons, The Buzzcocks, The Beat, Alabama 3, Dreadzone, Gaz Mayall, Don Letts and Wreckless Eric. His highlight is playing DJ support to the Pogues on the main stage at the ‘Strummer of Love’ Festival in 2012
Expect some solid old school ska and rocksteady picks alongside his unique brand of left field mash-ups. Jack never forgets his roots – often performing in his trademark Seditionaries shirt – so anticipate a punky reggae party that’ll get you up on your feet.
