Take me home, Countryman
Wilkswood Root Reggae stalwarts Countryman Sound repeat the short trip from Bournemouth to play at this year’s festival.
After the demise of the Dubnium Soundsystem, Bournemouth reggae music veteran Daddy U (keyboardist with roots reggae band, Dubheart) took to the hills to meditate and contemplate the way forward. Working the soil and communicating with nature an idea was formed, he would scour the south west to find the best undiscovered talent and with their help build one of the mightiest soundsystems ever.
Countryman Soundsystem was born, a pure roots and culture sound dealing with musical livity. The Countryman Crew includes Ras Bashy (MC/Vocalist), Ben Jammin’ (Selecta/Engineer), Aron T (Logistics), Daddy U (Dubnium Originator/Sound System Chief), Jah Marcus (Small Axe/Selecta) and MC Tenja (Dubheart – Master of Ceremony/Vocalist) among many others.
The band regularly broadcast on Bristol’s Passion Radio on the UpRooted Radio Show every Thursday from 11pm.
